The Hong Kong lottery is booming, with one lucky punter poised to win a record jackpot of over HK$10 million ($1.3 billion). The prize fund grew after no ticket was sold for Tuesday’s drawing, leading thousands of hopefuls to rush to betting outlets operated by the Hong Kong Jockey Club. Laundry worker Luk Yuen-wan, 66, spent HK$20 on her first-ever ticket. “I thought it’s worth a try,” she said.
